To proclaim the everlasting gospel, to prepare the world for Christ’s soon return

Nahum: Does God ever lose His cool?

There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?”  Nahum 3:19

Have you noticed how the instructions you give a child greatly depend on what you want the child to do at the time.  Giving directions to a group of your friends who have never been to your house can differ depending on where your friend is beginning the trip.

The Bible writers all want us to move - we move away from and we move towards.  Think back on instructions to a child.  You want them to move closer together for a photo.  You want them to get out of the way of an oncoming car.  You want them to say ’thank you’ for a gift just received.  You want them to never hit their sister again.

When you read through Naham, consider who needs to move and in which direction - and imagine the tone of voice to best motivate that move.
